Piedmont Folkways

Piedmont Folkways loves and supports regional “acoustic roots music!”

Piedmont Folkways was formed in 2017 to share an interesting story and to increase public awareness and access to regional traditional music, folk tales, stories, and historical events.  This process includes historical research, writing and producing performance pieces for live theater, broadcasting a weekly live radio show, special events with visiting artists, and podcasts.

Piedmont Folkways Inc is a 501 C3 nonprofit organization, incorporated in December 2018, to manage The Tom Dooley Project for the 2019 performances, and to create additional performing arts projects.

Cathy Cash

Founder & Executive Director

    Cathy Cash's background is in commercial radio sales and sales management in NC, SC GA & FL,  concert and festival organization including Merlefest, NC Wine Festival at Tanglewood, NC and the Tom Dooley Project.

    Danny Wicker

    Board Member

      Daniel Wicker is a Native of Eastern North Carolina known for his Piedmont Blues style of picking and singing.

      Jason Wood

      Board Member

        Jason Wood is a Native of Eastern North Carolina and performs with Wood Family Tradition, his family band.

        Mackenzie Wood

        Board Member

          Mackenzie Wood is the Wife of Jason and performs in their family band Wood Family Tradition.

          David Hamm

            David Hamm is the Producer and Host for Piedmont Folkways.
